We’re Kate Baker and Kelsey Brown, the licensed speech-language pathologists who founded Shine Therapy. We’re also Waco moms ourselves, and that shapes how we get to know every family we work with.

WHY WE STARTED SHINE
Shine Therapy was founded with a passion to make speech therapy more accessible and to create deeper, more meaningful connections with the families we serve. We started this practice to remove the challenges families often face in traditional settings, including restrictive eligibility requirements and limited access to personalized, high-quality therapy. We believe therapy should be engaging, collaborative, and tailored to each child’s unique strengths and needs. Our goal is to help children grow in their communication skills and build the confidence they need to shine at home, at school, and in everyday life.
HOW WE BUILT IT DIFFERENTLY
Between us, we’ve spent more than fifteen years serving children and families through speech therapy. Throughout that time, we’ve seen how traditional settings can sometimes limit access to individualized, high-quality care and meaningful family connections. Shine is what we built when we got the chance to do it on our own.
MISSION
Our mission is to empower children to communicate with confidence by providing high quality, evidence-based speech pathology services grounded in clinical excellence and Christian values. We partner with families to support each child’s communication journey, honoring their unique voice while helping them shine through individualized, compassionate care.
